About Pie Dreams

Handcrafted sweet and savory pies.

Located at 5855 Jarvis Ave D, Newark, CA 94560, Pie Dreams operates as an italian deli serving Newark in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 4 days of the week. Typical hours are 12–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Its website is piedreamsco.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 56 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian delis & bakeries in Newark.

I drove past on my errand run yesterday and immediately circled back. I love pie. And a dedicated pie shop? Yes please. Once you're out of your car, it's a little hard to find. I'd love to keep Pie Dreams my little secret, but out of respect for the proprietor's mad baking skills, it's behind Dino's. The shop occupies a small space so be prepared to take your food and eat it elsewhere. The owner is passionate about his pies and shared his philosophy about how pie can make us all nicer, gentler people. I mean, that's not exactly verbatim, but the pie case made it hard to pay attention. On my visit, there were two savory pies (hand pies) and a selection of sweet pies (hand pies and slices). Being a big supporter of small businesses, I ordered 4. All I can say is I'm super happy I don't live closer. The chicken bacon hand pie was delicious. Big pieces of chicken in a flavorful creamy sauce. There may have been some vegetables in it but I was driving and it was unsafe to inspect my pie closely. The caramel apple hand pie was good. Because I'm not an apple pie fan I appreciated that the apples were sliced thinly, not chunky, and I loved the addition of the sanding sugar on top. I o

We came to Pie Dreams with our wedding dream: no cake, just pies! And they made our dreams come true! Awesome communication, seamless delivery, incredible selection of pies. We were able to feed our guests with a dessert table featuring 100 hand pies! We chose blueberry lemon and the salted caramel apple, and our guests were raving about it. We were able to freeze them too, so we can celebrate our 1 year anniversary with these delicious hand pies. Thank you so much for making our wedding Pie Dreams come true!

The key lime pie was amazing. I can't remember having a better one in the Bay Area. The filling was super smooth and perfectly tart. It had a layered pastry crust (which was also great) rather than the traditional graham cracker. Again, the pie was amazing but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about what their filling would be like on a graham cracker crust. I just got back from a trip to Florida where I had Publix key lime pie (which I and many others consider to be pretty good) and Pie Dreams completely outclasses them.

I discovered Pie Dreams via Instagram. They have such beautiful and unique pies, I just had to try! Funny enough, I went on pi day. You can preorder pies, but they also sell in store. The store itself is quite small so expect to pickup over dine in. When you walk in, there’s a fridge to the side for frozen hand pies. The front counter offers a variety of pies and the menu is on the wall to the side. We got a whole pandan custard pie to share with the family. It was sweet and delicious! It has a nice pandan scent to it. We also got 3 savory hand pies: chicken & bacon, lobster, and mechado. My favorite was the lobster hand pie! Would come again and try other flavors!

My Mom isn't the biggest on sweets and doesn't really eat many pies. However, I treated her to their key lime slice (something she actually does tolerate) and she LOVED IT! Excellent. She also said Ricky and the lady who also came out to speak to us from the back area, gave excellent CS and are nice people. I personally came for the pecan pie which they didn't have but I hope to try it. We've been trying to patronize this establishment since they opened but we're not always in the area or they've been closed. Fasho looking forward to the pecan pie. My Mom too, as her Mom in heaven, loved pecan pies. She wants to try it on GP πŸ•Š. Next day update: BOMB! We had it 2 days in a row. The blueberry lemon hand pie was also fire. So good overall πŸ˜‹.
